Special Needs Consultancy (Leadership & Permanent)

A road less travelled…

We understand that choosing to work in the special needs sector can feel like taking the “road less travelled”, but we also know that the majority who take that road are “all better for it”.

We recognise that the requirements of special needs schools are different to the mainstream and their particular requirements are frequently not actively listened to when working with external partners.

We have listened carefully to schools, leadership teams, teachers and school support staff and we have  coupled this insight with our in-house expertise focused around our Head of Educational Strategy Jonathan Newport to create a new bespoke consultancy service; Special Needs Consultancy.

Jonathan began his career teaching in a mainstream school before moving to Barnardos where he worked for sixteen years and was the Primary Head Teacher, Deputy Principal and Head of Education at Barnardos' largest special school, which catered for children statemented with SEBD and complex needs. Jonathan is widely recognised for his innovative and progressive work on behaviour strategies.
