The Conservative party have become the latest people to enter the debate surrounding the profile of science teaching in the UK, it has been reported.
According to an article by the BBC, a new report, supported by the Tories, has called for more support to be given to those in science
teaching jobs and tax breaks to be given to businesses to conduct scientific research.
It claims that in order for economic growth to be boosted more must be done to raise the profile of the subject.
The news provider reported Conservative leader David Cameron as saying: "It is a massive call to arms and one that I completely welcome to build a new model for our economy.
"We've got to have an economy where we start designing things, making things and selling things."
Earlier this year, a spokesperson for the Science Group encouraged individuals in science
teaching jobs to promote the subject to young people, claiming that not enough was being done to educate children concerning it.
