Some of you may be aware that in April 2011, the Department for Education (DfE) said that it was to consider the current arrangements for statutory induction.
We are delighted to inform you that the DfE announced today that from September 2012, the 16 month supply limit for statutory induction will be replaced, which means you are now able to work on short-term supply for 5 years from your qualification date!
This will apply not only to those of you who qualify this year, but also to anyone who gained QTS on or after 1st September 2007. And there’s no need to worry if you are currently outside the 16 month limit or have failed to gain further extensions from your local authority; you will be able to work on day to day supply again, provided you are still within 5 years of your qualification date.
The new statutory guidance for the induction of newly qualified teachers has been published today on the DfE website and is available here
Additional details regarding induction arrangements, including the new regulations that come into force on 1st September can be found here
We’re sure this will be a welcome announcement for many of you, and we have some fantastic NQT jobs for schools recruiting now in your area! Apply today and don’t forget to register on our website with your latest CV.
