Lesson plans and teacher aids

Below are a selection of sites with useful lesson plans, aids, and other tips for organising lessons.  They range from official government sites to small subject specific websites.  Many of these sites are free and do not require registration, and will also allow you to upload your own lesson plan ideas.

Waldomaths

 

An independently run site for maths teachers in the UK, lots of lesson plans and ideas for secondary school staff right through to A-Level.  It is useful for both teachers and pupils alike, and is regularly updated with new materials.

 

What2Learn

 

An interesting site aimed at pupils and teachers, aimed at engaging users with fun games on a variety of subjects.  Users can also create their own games and there are useful sections regarding revision aides.

 

Teachernet

 

A government run initiative with a wide ranging database of over 2,000 lesson plans and resources. They have all been evaluated by teachers, and cover the national curriculum Key Stages 1 to 3.  A very popular and useful section of this official site.

 

School Zone

 

School Zone contains a searchable database with access to over 60,000 free resources.  There is a large and active community that contributes towards the site.  It includes a frequently updated news section along with information on upcoming courses.
