PERMANENT TEACHER OF MFL (FRENCH/SPANISH) (with additional responsibility, second in charge)

Capita Education is currently working in partnership with St Catherine's Catholic School based in Bexleyheath (Kent) for a permanent Teacher of MFL (French/Spanish) to start in September 2012.



With a supportive and inspirational Head Teacher, St Catherine's Catholic School is a highly successful oversubscribed 11-16 Girls Catholic Comprehensive School which in December 2011 became an Academy. With high quality accommodation and resources, a recent Ofsted inspection rated St Catherine's as an excellent school.



All students follow a course in either French or Spanish in Years 7, 8 and 9, after which the vast majority continue with one of these languages at GCSE level in Years 10 and 11. GCSE results in both languages are consistently outstanding and significantly above the national average. In the most recent Ofsted report (2009), inspectors noted that the proportion of students attaining A* and A grades in French was exceptionally high. In 2011 62% of students of Spanish gained an A* or A grade.



The successful applicant must hold an honours degree (or equivalent) and Qualified Teacher Status/NQT as well as able to teach French and/or Spanish up-to GCSE. This position would also be very suitable for an ambitious teacher looking for their first promotion. An additional TLR 2c is available for a candidate who is able to take on the responsibility of Teaching and Learning Coordinator for MFL (second in charge).
