Teacher of Maths & ICT

The organisational arrangement for teaching may vary but will generally be in small group settings supported with a Teaching Assistant. The Link Centre provides support for pupils who are experiencing social, emotional and behavioural difficulties. The centre will provide an opportunity for young people to undertake work which will help them to develop the competencies to cope in mainstream school. The entire approach and curriculum will be designed to help improve the likelihood of the pupil integrating successfully into mainstream school. Support for pupils can be given via a variety of means including support in school and the potential of a time limited placement.

Applicants should have an understanding of strategies and systems which promote successful learning and positive behaviour. They should have strong empathy with a desire to meet the needs of such pupils.

Applicants should be confident in the use of target setting, monitoring and assessment procedures that are an integral part of a professional approach to behaviour management. An understanding and awareness of personnel and social skills work as desirable
