James Hornsby High School in Basildon in Essex require a dynamic and outstanding Learning Zone Manager for Mathematics to lead the Mathematics department and inspire staff and students to achieve their full potential.



James Hornsby High School works intensively in partnership with The King John School so you will have the support of outstanding mathematicians to help make a significant contribution and help us improve James Hornsby even more. We are professional, friendly and determined to succeed.



Our school is very ambitious and has significant plans for development over the next few years. We have a building development programme in place (partly funded through BSF) and curriculum developments planned.

Overall Purpose of Post
We are looking for an excellent practitioner who will be inspire our students and has a clear vision for the development of Mathematics and Numeracy across our curriculum. The successful applicant will quickly raise standards at both KS3 and GCSE making a significant contribution to enable us to improve even more.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities
In your role as a Learning Zone Manager for Mathematics you will be accountable for the highest standards of student achievement within the Mathematics Learning Zone. You will also lead, develop and enhance the teaching practice of all teachers of Mathematics and be accountable for the strategic direction of Mathematics.

Qualifications - Essential/Desirable
- Qualified Teacher Status

Experience - Essential/Desirable
- Head of Department or Second in Charge experience - Specialist in Mathematics
