Learning Support Assistant



As a proactive and enthusiastic individual, you will complement the Learning Support team providing support to students with physical or learning difficulties as they undertake college courses. You will support groups and/or individual students who have been assessed and identified as requiring additional learning support both in classes and around the College sites.

As part of a team, you will have good communication skills and be reliable and punctual, with previous experience of supporting young people or adults with learning difficulties and/or disabilities with a wide variety of needs.



You will need to hold GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above, or equivalent level 2 qualifications, and ideally hold a level 3 qualification in Learning Support. Knowledge of the barriers that learners with disabilities face and the skills to enable access to the curriculum for these students and IT literacy is also important for this role.



Any offer of employment will be subject to the receipt of a satisfactory enhanced disclosure from the Criminal Records Bureau, satisfactory references and sight of original qualifications.



Successful applicants will be placed onto a register of Support Workers and as and when support hours become available.
