Learning Support Assistants
To support and include learners with learning difficulties on a range of mainstream and vocational courses in a further education setting.
Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) are required to join the Additional Learning Support team. This post will involve supporting a range of learners with learning difficulties. Working under the direction of a Lecturers, you will be required to support learners within a class situation with literacy and/or numeracy as well as helping to manage learners' challenging behaviours. You may also be required to support learners during breaks and/or during trips.
The successful candidate will have experience of supporting people in an education, residential or day services setting or a relevant qualification. Significant experience in working with learners who have autism and exhibit challenging behaviour is an essential requirement. Literacy and numeracy qualifications at level two will be required (GCSE Grade C English & Maths acceptable).
Any offer of employment will be subject to the receipt of a satisfactory enhanced disclosure from the Criminal Records Bureau, satisfactory references and sight of original qualifications.
Successful applicants will be placed onto a register of Support Workers and as and when support hours become available.
