Capita Education Resourcing is one of the largest supply agencies in the area, supplying teaching and non teaching staff to a wide variety of schools throughout the region.
Due to a growing demand we are currently looking to recruit several cooks to work in both Secondary and Primary schools. Duties include;
1. Assist Catering Manager with cooking of school meals.
2. Assist Catering Manager with supervision of staff.
3. Assist with the planning, costing and delivery of future menus.
4. Support the School's Healthy Eating Policy and Nutritional Standards.
5. Kitchen cleaning and cleaning of equipment used by Chef/Cook during the day.
6. Help with service of meal and washing up after meal.
7. Maintenance of good standard of hygiene in kitchen.
8. Take control of opening, setting up and closure of the kitchen in the absence of Catering Manager.
9. Assist Catering Manager in training new staff in cooking methods and methods of work in kitchen.
10. Assist Catering Manager with health and safety training and food hygiene awareness.
11. Assist the Catering Manager with book-keeping, ordering and stock-taking.
12. Help any member of kitchen staff as required.
13. Take control of cooking and due diligence in absence of Catering Manager.
14. Help with special functions which take place in the school.
15. Any other duties which may reasonably be regarded as within the nature of the duties and responsibilities/grade of the post as defined, subject to the proviso that normally any changes of a permanent nature shall be incorporated into the job description in specific terms.
