JOB TITLE - British Sign Language Teaching Assistant

RATE OF PAY - £55 per day

I am currently recruiting Teaching Assistants with experience of working with Deaf children within a SEN teaching environment, both on a one-to-one basis and within small groups. You must be bilingual in English and British Sign Language and ideally possess a Teaching Assistant qualification through the NVQ, CACHE or BTEC schemes or have extensive experience of working in a SEN school with Deaf children. The pupils at this school have a Statement of SEN and are severely or profoundly deaf. British Sign Language is or will be their primary mode of communication and is required to fully access communication and the curriculum. The pupils will still be part of mainstream classes and you will be assisting them alongside the lead teacher within the classroom.



You will have excellent communication skills and will be comfortable liaising with both teachers and students, with an ability to quickly form bonds with those you work with. You will be relied upon to execute all work to a high standard, ensuring that the individual child meets their required learning outcomes under the guidance of the class teacher.
