ASSISTANT HEAD TEACHER
SALARY: PAY SPINE L15-L19

Capita Education are currently recruiting on behalf of Northfleet School for Girls based in Gravesend (Kent) for a Assistant Head Teacher responsible for Progress and Achievement to start in September 2012.
Northfleet School for Girls is a highly successful and ambitious 11-18 school. Recently rebuilt, the Learning Trust offering an exciting opportunity to teach in a collegiate atmosphere where their motto is "Always Learning, Learning All Ways" applies to everyone. Situated within easy reach of London and Ebbsfleet, the school has a strong sense of community and a belief in the values of self and social responsibility.
The school is structured with four Assistant Head Teachers, five Domain areas (each with their own leader at extended leadership level who ensure that vision is a daily reality) and two additional Extended Leadership Team members who provide very strong Post 16 provision and exciting ICT development. This new and exciting management structure will drive continued progress forward and give four key members of staff the opportunity to gain experience to move into Headship.
Each Assistant Head Teacher individually has overall responsibility for one of the following areas:

*Learning & Teaching
*School Ethos & Relationships for Learning
*Staff & Leadership Development

Every member of SLT shares responsibility for shaping and delivering the school vision for all students, corporate responsibility for improving and developing the school and is accountable for specified whole school responsibilities
The role is specifically to raise achievement through delivering high quality student mentoring and monitoring in order to improve student outcomes; to co-lead a team of Domain Leaders to deliver coherent improvement and specialist, enrichment and extended schools provision; to be responsible for aspects of the school's QA systems, specifically target setting and getting.
