All of our tutors are qualified teachers. Your child deserves the best and you deserve value for money. We do not employ people from commerce with only a practical understanding of subjects, or a just a degree in the subject you are looking for. All our tutors are experienced and fully qualified teachers.
We believe that a home tutor should have full knowledge of the standards and requirements of the National Curriculum. Unlike people with only a commercial background, they are skilled in teaching and know how to relate, encourage, motivate and enthuse children. Other tutoring agencies employ people with no accredited training, who may have a great deal of commercial knowledge about maths as they have been an accountant, but no grasp of how to actually help children understand the theoretical aspects that underpin the curriculum and ultimately lead to exam success. Neither do they understand the pressures of school life that can sometimes alienate children and lead to the need for additional support.
We interview every tutor face-to-face. We treat our tutors in the same way as a teacher that we would send into a school, using the same legislative and robust vetting requirements to ensure children remain safe. This means you are assured to get an adult that not only is qualified, but is also fully vetted to government standards. This includes a face to face interview. This is vital, not only to comply with Department for Education (DfE) regulations in terms of confirming ID but ensures that our consultants can really get to know the tutor in order to match them perfectly with your child and their needs. Some tutoring agencies do not comply with such a wide range of legislation but at Capita, we believe that as you are inviting someone into your home in a position of trust, this requires as much, if not more regulation than a school and provides you with real assurance.
We vet our tutors to DfE Quality Mark standards. While other agencies may complete a CRB check (Criminal Records Bureau), Capita is inspected on a yearly basis in order to ensure full compliance with all legislation surrounding the safeguarding of children. We were one of the first to be awarded the Quality Mark and the first to be renewed, passing with 100% in every audit since 2002.
